Obituary of Stephen Benedict Lynch
STEPHEN B. LYNCH
LATHAM - Stephen Benedict Lynch, 76, of Latham, passed away suddenly on January 3, 2025, at his home.
Born on February 2, 1948, in Hartford, Connecticut, Stephen was the beloved son of the late Stephen and Lillian Lynch. Stephen pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor's degree from SUNY Oneonta, a Master's degree from The College of Saint Rose, and an Advanced Certificate from SUNY Albany. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1973.
Stephen was a devoted father and loving husband who cherished spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Laura Lynch; his children, Adam, Brian, Colleen, and John Lynch; his grandson, Lucas Lynch; his brother, Kevin Lynch; and his nephew and niece, Chris and Casey Lynch. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Lynch, and his aunt, Vivian Lynch.
Stephen had a zest for life and an infectious laugh that brought joy to those around him. He loved cooking for his family, indulging in cherry pie and Stewart's Neapolitan Ice Cream, and enjoying summer vacations filled with laughter and love. Steve had a pleasant singing voice that he shared in glee club during his college years, and also later in life with the St. Thomas the Apostle Church Choir while he taught at their school, and later in the Mendelssohn Club. A true music enthusiast and avid reader, he also adored his cats and never missed an opportunity to share his "thousand moves you can't touch" on the dance floor.
Stephen will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
