Obituary of Patricia A. Beaumont
PATRICIA BEAUMONT
LATHAM - Patricia Beaumont, beloved wife of John Beaumont, passed away at home at the age of 67 on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 after a long struggle with multiple health issues.
Patty was born in St. Louis in 1957 and lived with her parents and 5 brothers and sisters in the Chicago area, on Long Island, and finally in the Syracuse area where she graduated from high school and started a career in the retail cosmetics industry, working as a sales rep and then as a store buyer.
Patty and her husband, John, were introduced by a mutual friend and it was genuinely love at first sight for both of them. They were engaged less than three months later and joined their hearts and their lives in a truly blessed and devoted marriage of 42 years. Patty soon left her business career to begin her true passion as a loving and supportive mother to her two children. She absolutely loved raising and spending time with her kids, helping out in various ways at their schools, and was so proud of the amazing, loving adults they have both become, and she was even more overjoyed when her two grandchildren came into her life.
Although her health issues limited her ability to continue to travel throughout the country with her family, as well as many of her physical activities in her last years, she never lost her optimism and her wonderful sense of humor as well as her deep love for her friends and family. After her son was married just a year before her passing, she was thrilled and so proud to talk about how very hard she worked to be able to dance with him at his wedding.
Patty is survived by her adoring husband John, her son Andrew (Bonnie), her daughter Elizabeth Shutter (Billy), and her grandchildren Sophia and Max, as well as her many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was predeceased by her parents Willard and Anne Gunther and her brother Steven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road in Latham, where she was a parishioner for 36 years, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
