I have many fond memories of working with Robbie at the Kesselring site with the Boilermakers Local #197 for 25+ years. Always a gentleman, a reliable partner and a good union man who took much pride in his work, he was appropriately nicknamed “Mr. Clean” by his co-workers and lived up to that label on a daily basis. Respected and well-liked by every tradesman on the job, Rob was, without question, an asset to our union – we were lucky to have had him.
I was blessed to be the person that brought into his life the unconditional love that only a purebred German Shepherd puppy could bring. Although “Pension” was the first dog that Rob had ever had, it was immediately obvious that the two of them were going to develop a very special bond, one that Rob had never been lucky enough to experience before. About six months into their relationship, Rob called one day to tell me that he now realized what I meant when I told him that “your life will be forever changed for the better” by bringing this little pup into your heart and home. Pension had become his most loyal friend and companion, an enthusiastic playmate and a true partner in his life. We often compared notes on the adventures of Pension because I had fallen for his sister “Shania”, a gorgeous black female pup from the same litter and the “Wolfe Pack” in my home now numbered three.
I rest easy now, knowing that this handsome animal that Rob has raised is now healthy, happy and enjoying all the love and attention that his new owner can give him. Knowing Pension personally, I guarantee that love is being returned tenfold – all because of the unique love that Rob gave him. I truly believe that they will be re-united again some day in a place where their good times together will never end.
Rest in peace, Brother – until we meet again!
