Obituary of Elizabeth Helen Johnson
ELIZABETH HELEN JOHNSON
LATHAM - Elizabeth Helen Johnson, 86 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Raymond M. Johnson, entered into eternal life on Sunday, September 1st, 2024 with her loving family at her side while at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Watervliet, NY on July 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary Ann (Misiaszek) Pazzo. Mrs. Johnson married Raymond M. Johnson April 11, 1959 and spent a cherished 62 years together prior to his passing in 2021.
Elizabeth worked as a secretary employed by Regional Data Corporation in Troy, NY until retiring in 1986. She also worked as a librarian with the Cohoes Consolidated Catholic School and Cohoes High School. Her most devoted role throughout her life, however, was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed yet forever loved and cherished in the hearts of those she held dear.
Survivors include her children Michael (Janet) Johnson, Mary Beth (Kevin) Durocher, Thomas (Mary) Johnson, Daniel (Eileen) Johnson, Ellen (Thomas) Benoit, grandchildren Kevin (Alyse) Johnson, Kailyn (James) Ciancarelli, Sarah (Ryan) Henderson, Lauren (Joshua) Jones, Eric (Lindsey) Johnson, Emily (Nick) Calangi, Kylie (Mark) Davin, Timothy Johnson, and great-grandchildren Brinley, Caleb, Cecilia, Eleanor, Emmott, Lucas, Madelyn, Marcus, Maybel, and Sloane. Also survived by her special niece Ann Marie Houle, who provided much support to her, as well as several additional nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and late husband, Elizabeth is predeceased by her sisters Frances Pazzo and Anna (William) Biggs
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, September 6th, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Latham with Reverend Geoffrey Burke, celebrant. Interment beside her late husband, Raymond, will follow the mass and take place at St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Catholic Central School or Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
