Obituary of John T. "Jack" Fallon
JOHN THOMAS FALLON
John Thomas "Jack" Fallon, 81 of Waterford and formerly Loudonville, passed away on August 27, 2024, after a long and fulfilling life.
Jack was born on October 8, 1942, in Poughkeepsie, NY. He spent his childhood in Poughkeepsie and Cohoes, NY finally landing in Loudonville, NY with his loving parents, the late John and Jennie (Scoma) Fallon and five siblings Jim, Peter, Tom, Mark and Carol.
Jack graduated from Shaker High School in 1960 where he played football, was class president, and was voted class clown by his peers. He went on to attend Villanova University where he majored in English.
Jack loved the theater and entertained on the stage up until the day he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the summer of 2024. Jack performed in New York City and Los Angeles throughout his 30s. It was in California that he met his wife, Maria, in 1981. They were married for 42 years and resided primarily in Loudonville, NY where they raised their three children together.
In 2014, Jack retired from the New York State Department of Education. In recent years he has spent his time hiking with his wife, acting, playing the horses, cheering on his beloved Villanova Wildcats, and visiting with his grandchildren. Jack was a devoted parishioner of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville.
In addition to his late parents, Jack is predeceased by his brother Jim (Diane).
Jack is survived by his wife: Maria, siblings: Peter, Tom, Mark (Terri) and Carol (Greg), children: John, Genevieve (Athan), Teresa (Dominic) and Patrick, grandchildren: Nicholas, Christopher, Joseph, Dominic, Mae, Sadie, Josephine, and Beatrice and great-grandchild: Elijah.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 31st, 2024, 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd., Loudonville, NY; Rev. James Walsh, celebrant. Interment to follow at St. John's Cemetery, Troy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Pius X.
