WALTER L. UERZ

LOUDONVILLE - Walter Leo Uerz, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, entered into eternal life on June 19, 2024.

Walt was born in Utica, NY, on November 24, 1931, only son of his loving parents, the late Mildred (Bossely) and Leo Uerz. A graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, he was employed part-time at the NY Telephone Co. while attending Utica College. After receiving his bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, Walt married his beloved Mary Gillissie in 1954. Walt was a dedicated parishioner of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville for over 50 years and served as an usher and volunteer during that time. After his family and his faith, Walt's great love was fishing, particularly in the beautiful lakes of the Adirondacks with his sons. After his retirement, Walt and Mary split time between their homes in Loudonville and in Chestertown as well as cherished vacations with their children and grandchildren.
