Kathleen Annetta White Obituary

KATHLEEN A. WHITE

LATHAM - Kathleen Annetta White, 64 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Matthew L. White and devoted mother of Jessica M. Lorenz, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany, surrounded by her loving family after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Syracuse, NY she was the daughter of the late John B. and Helen L. (Meagher) McDonald. Kathy attended and graduated from Shaker High School, Class of 1977. She went on to earn her BSRN at Russell Sage College School of Nursing. Kathy would go on to dedicate her life to caring for others, particularly infants, as a highly trained and skilled NICU Registered Nurse. She took immense pride in the care she provided "her babies" and the love she shared with them. She cared for infants in NICU's at Texas Children's Hospital (where she was a member of the medevac team), Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital in Louisiana, and most recently St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Her compassion and dedication to nursing will forever be Kathy's legacy.

Aside from nursing, Kathy's family and friends were her world. She held dear every moment spent with her daughter, Jessica. She was and forever will be her pride and joy. She cherished those closest in her life especially her lifelong friend, Mary Winne, as well as the loving and watchful guidance provided to her since age sixteen by her late brother-in-law, Bill Joslin. Kathy's family finds comfort in knowing that he will continue to watch over her and was there to welcome her with open arms. Kathy's light and love will be sorely missed yet eternally cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

In addition to her late husband, parents, and brother-in-law, Kathy is predeceased by her siblings Mary (late Richard) LaBelle and Michael (Deborah) McDonald.

In addition to her adored daughter and best friend, Jessica, Kathy is survived by her siblings John (Karen) McDonald, Theresa (late Bill) Joslin, twin brother Kevin (Heidi) Weinman, as well numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers, and friends.

Kathy's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses of St. Peter's Hospital 6 Brady Farrel and The Hospice Inn for the sincere care and compassion provided to Kathy in her final days.
