Obituary of Arthur "Bill" W. Joslin Jr.
LATHAM - Arthur William Joslin Jr, known as Bill or Billy, passed away suddenly on April 21, 2024 at the age of 69.
He was born in Glen Burnie, MD on October 18, 1954. He moved to Latham, NY at a very young age. While he lived in many houses in his life, he raised his four children in the home his parents raised him in. He loved his home and took pride in it always looking up to his standards. The house changed over the years, but the love in it always stayed the same.
Bill knew everyone and everyone knew Bill. Bill was a giver and wouldn't hesitate to give you the shirt off his back or hire you for odd jobs to help you make ends meet. We know he left a lasting impact on many people throughout his life.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Theresa (McDonald) Joslin. Some would say she was his better half. We wouldn't disagree but we also know that they were the perfect pair. Together in life and in love they raised four children: Michael (Nana) Joslin, Kathleen Joslin, Erin (Sean) Daly and William (Breeanne) Joslin. He is also survived by his sisters Evelyn Joslin, Barbara Pattillo (late Kenneth), Deborah McDonald (late Michael), niece Katelyn McDonald, godson Shane (Michelle) McDonald, as well as a large extended family. Bill is predeceased by his parents Arthur William Joslin Sr and Evelyn Loretta (Knapp) Joslin and stepmother Phyllis Joslin.
Bill's greatest joy in recent years were his four grandchildren; Cailin, Reagan and Adalyn Daly and Thomas Joslin. He loved watching them play sports and seeing how they grew each day. We have many wonderful memories of our family vacations in Myrtle Beach, SC. If you've ever sat at a bar with Bill, we are sure you have heard a loving story about a child or grandchild. We loved him more than words can say. He may have been rough on the outside, but he was our whole world and the void that we all feel now will be with us forever.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to North Colonie Youth Baseball Association (PO Box 1126, Latham, NY 12110), which Bill played an active role in his entire life or to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org) in support of the many veterans in his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. A prayer service will conclude the visitation and will begin at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
