Obituary of Delano Hussayn McClain
Delano Hussayn McClain has sadly passed away on April 17th, 2024 in Schenectady, NY. He
was a loving son of Barbara Watson and Walter Hunter. Born and raised in Albany, New York,
he always had a charismatic charm. His passion for basketball is what made him a hardworking
and confident person.
Striving for success at Mount Plesant High School, he achieved many accomplishments. This
included being recognized as an all-state-ranked athlete and winning a state championship. He
continued his basketball journey over to Jefferson Community College where he was recognized
as part of the 1988-89 "All-Regional Basketball Team of the Year".
Sports weren't the only thing that Delano enjoyed. He was very passionate about health care,
supporting friends and family, and enjoying the small moments in life. Delano assisted as a taxi
driver for locals and provided charity services for his area (he loved cooking for others!).
Delano leaves his legacy behind to his two children, Nygilia Khamille McClain (United Kingdom)
and Deanna London'skye McClain (Schenectady, NY), additional family members Sherell Leigh
(Atlanta, G.A.), Carla Leigh (Atlanta, G.A.), and the many cousins, family, and friends from all
around the world.
Allah, forgive him, raise his rank among those who are guided, and take care of those he leaves
behind. Forgive us and him, Oh lord of the worlds; expand his grave for him and illuminate it for
him.
A special thank you to Allison, Abdubhar, and Masjid As Salam for helping prepare and support
his transformation towards paradise.
