Obituary of William E. "Eddie" Robinson
WILLIAM E. "EDDIE" ROBINSON
LATHAM - William Edward "Eddie" Robinson, 79 of Latham, beloved husband of Marianne (Duval) Robinson passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Landgraff, WV, one of thirteen children, he was the son of the late James and Mary (Williams) Robinson. Eddie moved to Yonkers, NY in the early 1960's which is where he would meet his wife, Marianne, in nursing school. After marrying, Eddie and Marianne began to build their dear family, adopting their daughters Tahnya in 1972 and Nadene in 1974. They relocated to Beacon, NY in 1976.
Eddie devoted his career as a Registered Nurse for the NYS Department of Corrections where he served for over twenty-five years. The majority of his time was spent at Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill, NY.
Eddie led a simple yet abundant life. He enjoyed nightlife and dancing in his early years, was an avid reader and gardener, had a particular fondness for westerns and blues music, and could often be found chopping wood for his woodstove in his backyard. His greatest joy was without a doubt his family. He will be sorely missed yet his memory and legacy will live on the hearts of those he loved.
In addition to his beloved wife, Marianne, Eddie is survived by his daughters Tahnya, and her husband Darius, Brown and Nadene DeGennaro and her fiance, Jamie Block. Also survived by his three grandchildren: Brianna and Collin Biddings and Haley DeGennaro.
