TIMOTHY J. SHEEHY

LATHAM – Timothy J. Sheehy, 66 of Latham, beloved husband of Michele "Shelly" (Nolett), passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 8, 1957 he was the son of the late John A. and Joan (Bullock) Sheehy. Tim graduated from Shaker High School in Latham, class of 1976. He attended Erie Community College and graduated from Meter Dei College with a degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing in 1981. He worked as a licensed Optician and held various positions in the field for over forty years including the family business, Sheehy Opticians in Albany, that of which was started by his father in 1953. For the last eight years Tim was employed by the State of New York, most recently with the Office of General Services.

In addition to his late parents, Tim is predeceased by his son Steven Michael Sheehy. For many years Tim and Shelly devoted their time and efforts to North Colonie Youth Baseball, East Greenbush-Castleton Baseball, as well as the Capital Region Miracle League in East Greenbush in honor of their son.

In his free time Tim enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family especially at his camp in the Adirondacks. He will forever be missed and eternally cherished by all of those whose lives he touched.

In addition to his wife of forty-five years, Shelly, Tim is survived by his eleven siblings: Patricia (Mark) Belair, Deborah (Robert) Hanor, Kathleen Sheehy-Bulriss, Daniel (Jeannette) Sheehy,

Colleen (Charles) Tribley, Martin (Joann) Sheehy, Mary Lynn Sheehy, Matthew Sheehy, Robert (Julie) Sheehy, Meggan (Jack) Carey, and Kristyn (Brian) Roberts; in-laws Donald (Carol) Norlett, Kathryn Nolett (Art), Pam Nolett (Peter), and Meg Chisholm; As well as twenty nieces and nephews and twenty-five great nieces and nephews, many of whom looked up to Tim as an important role model in their lives.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 beginning at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd. with Reverend Geoffrey Burke, celebrant. Interment and Rite of Committal will immediately follow the mass in the family plot of Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
