Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Emelie (Nejedly) Gottlieb. Michelle and Charles were married on February 17, 1973 in Albany, sharing 51 cherished years together prior to her passing.
Michelle attended Cairo Central Schools, graduating in 1966. She went on to work as a Supervising Telephone Operator for AT&T, and later for the State Bank of Albany. Her career path eventually led her to employment with the State of NY, starting at the Department of Health before accepting a position with the Department of Parks and Recreation. After the birth of her daughter, Lindsay, Michelle would take on her new full-time role of homemaker and Mom.
Michelle enjoyed antiquing, dining out, vacationing, especially to her favorite destination of Dennis Port, Cape Cod, as well as reading and attending various concerts and shows such as Billy Joel, Elton John, and Celine Dion. She enjoyed trips to New York City with her daughter; Broadway shows and shopping. Michelle was an avid reader and was especially fond of the works of Stephen King. Michelle was a former member of Calvary Methodist Church in Cairo, NY as well as St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Latham. She was a staunch supporter of both the Capital City Rescue Mission as well as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
