MARILYN L. GOBEL
REXFORD - Marilyn Louise (Behrman) Gobel, 93 of Rexford, passed away peacefully October 15 with family and friends by her side after a short illness.
Born in Bayridge Brooklyn on November 19, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Rudolf and Matilda Behrman. Marilyn attended Fort Hamilton High School and went on to Secretary School. She raised her family in New Hyde Park, NY, moved to Westbury, NY and spent her later years at Coburg Village, Rexford NY, where she enjoyed many friendships and activities.
Her accomplishments were many, including being named Woman of Distinction of the 15th Assembly District in 2007 for her volunteer work.
Marilyn was witty, had a great sense of humor, and had a laugh that was contagious. She could light up a room and made friends wherever she went. Marilyn was a free spirit who enjoyed traveling and visited every corner of the globe. She loved to play golf, bridge, dance, swim and walk.
Marilyn is predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Adolf Phillip Gobel III, and son Adolf Phillip Gobel IV. She leaves behind her daughter Lora Ann (Gobel) Zorian, son Robert Charles Gobel, grandchildren Hannah Zorian, Robert and Dylan Gobel, two sisters-in-law, Pat Johnstone and Maureen Tullloch, along with many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
