Obituary of Sang Yong Lee

SANG YONG LEE

ROTTERDAM - Sang Yong Lee, 77 of Rotterdam, beloved husband of 49 years to Jung Hee (Hong) Lee, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Seoul, South Korea on June 3, 1946 he was the son of the late Young Woo and Young Hee (Choi) Lee.

He was accepted into Seoul National University and later immigrated to Canada where he studied at the University of Saskatchewan. He completed his studies at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Sang Yong worked as an electrical engineer for ABB and retired as a Principal Engineer at General Electric.

He enjoyed history, classic literature, music, playing baduk, and learning different languages. He also served as a deacon at his church, The Korean Presbyterian Church of Albany.

He was a devoted father and provider for his family. He will be deeply missed and eternally cherished by those who loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife, Jung Hee Lee, he is survived by his two dear sons Jonathan Lee and Brian Lee.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 30th, 2023, 10:00 am, at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd, Latham, NY.
