Obituary of Marcia C. Dow

MARCIA CONRON DOW 

COHOES - Marcia Conron Dow, 83, formerly of Loudonville, beloved wife of the late Francis V. Dow, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at The Eddy Village Green in Cohoes.

Born in Albany on November 25, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Francis X. and Marcella (Shuttleworth) Conron. She married her husband on May 15, 1970 and the two shared a devoted union of 46 years prior to his passing on June 15, 2016.

Marcia was a dedicated mother who tended to her family with love and joy.  She also worked for New York State Department Taxation and Finance, retiring in 2004. Marcia was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church where she was a member of the Bible Study Group. She also was a Pastoral Care Volunteer at the Loudonville Home for Adults for over 20 years. 

She is survived by her loving children, Michael (Annette) Dow of Phoenix, MD, Matthew (Deborah) Dow of Rutherfordton, NC, Christopher Dow of Longmeadow, MA, Marcy (Thomas) Ryan of Clifton Park and Jennifer (James) Kilcullen of Trumbull, CT. She is also survived by her thirteen cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Connor, Emeline, Hannah, Kathryn, Camden, Amory, William, Quinlan, Juliette, Francis, Sean, and Eamon, as well as her siblings, Jane E. Conron and Sr. Patricia Conron, CSJ, both of Latham, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Francis (Leanne) X. Conron of Wynantskill and Michael (Madelyn) J. Conron of Catonsville, MD. 

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Marcia’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, with Rev. James Walsh as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Marcia’s memory to The Eddy Village Green c/o Employee Enrichment Fund, 200 Village Green Drive, Cohoes, NY 12047.

Interment will take place next to her husband at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
