Obituary of Marjorie W. Norris

MARJORIE A. NORRIS 

COHOES - Marjorie A. (Wade) Norris of Columbia Street, Cohoes, beloved wife of the late Terrance J. Norris who passed just nineteen days prior, joined her beloved Terry for eternity on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023 with her loving family at her side.

Born September 26th, 1937 in Green Island, Margie was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Leona (Grenier) Wade. Margie married Terry Norris on November 26th 1955.

Margie worked as a Representative employed by New York State Department of Health for thirteen years before retiring in 2000. She was also employed by Travelers Insurance for a period of time. She was a dedicated member of the Mother’s Club of St. Joseph’s Church and Assistant Girl Scout Leader, both in Green Island. In her later years she enjoyed participating in and organizing events with Terry at their residence, Columbia Crest, in Cohoes. She could often be found running bingo or playing poker on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She would also play poker with her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly and enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine with her daughters. Her family was her deepest and truest source of joy. She will be forever missed and eternally loved by all who knew her. 

Survivors include her children Terri Ann (Daniel) Mandel, Shawn Norris, Laura (Bob) Treacy, and Wayde (Maralee) Norris, grandchildren, Erica, Jason, Nicole, Jessica, Nikee, Malynda, Terra, Wayde II, Daniel, Aaron, and Connor, as well as ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.  Also survived by sisters Joan Forcucci, Marion Halek, and Barbara Ryan and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husband and parents Margie was predeceased by her daughter Paula A. Norris-Cole, grandson Branden, great-grandson Zachary, and siblings Jack Wade, Richard Wade, Bill Wade, and Charles Wade.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, July 1st, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately at the request of Margie’s family.
