Jim and I went through grade school together. Very nice, quest as I recall. So sad to see some of my classmates leave us; they seem far too young.

Gregory Family
I played baseball against Jim in high school and with him on an American Legion Team. He was an outstanding player and
equally/more important--an outstanding individual.
God bless Jim and all the family he leaves behind. My prayers will be with you all. Pax Et Bonum!

"Jamie" is what we called him very early in our lives and I still called him as a joke. Jimmy was just such a kind and gentle soul. We shared many family events with him over the past several years and will miss him very much. I'm sure his dear mother was waiting with open arms. What a reunion that must have been! Enjoy your reward, Jimmy Gregory xxoo

Jim and I first became friends in 5th grade at Saint James Institute and that was a rewarding and enduring friendship. We served as altar boys at St James Church, played Little League baseball at Whitehall Little League, had lunch together every day at Cardinal McCloskey High School, studied together at SUNY Albany, and maintained our friendship over the years. Jim served as best man at my wedding and was a kind and loyal friend to my wife Georgia. In later years, Jim joined in our monthly Friday Night Brews outings with my friends and our adult sons, and we enjoyed summer nights watching Valley Cats games at The Joe. Jimmy made many friends over the years and kept in touch with phone calls and greeting cards. Friends like Jim are hard to come by and are dearly missed when they depart. Rest in heavenly peace my friend!

Many nights with the very same guy's Jimmy, Vinny, Terry, Doug, Steve Dennis and me, Gaspary's, Across the Street Pub, Papa Bear lounge, Golden Cue, Seaside Heights New Jersey, Pizza, Beers, Smokes, and don't forget the laughs, simply hours passed between a group of friends, we thought would never end, but they did! We all went our ways except Jimmy a nicer soul one could never meet. His laugh, kind demeanor and engendering smile won over many people, and we were blessed to call him "friend"! I'll always look over my shoulder at that time as a cherished memory. He was one of the "good guys" and that's' how my memory will always keep him, Rest in peace Jimmy, my friend God bless and keep you.
You will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Jimmy's passing. I first met Jimmy when I was about 3 years old. As I grew older I always looked up to him as a mentor. He was such a genuinely nice person and a excellent baseball player. He always took the time to play catch with me and always helped me with my hitting. Later in life we became close again and he was still as caring as ever. He would always ask about my family and was truly interested in everyone from our neighborhood. I know you will be reunited with all of your family and friends in Heaven and watching your Yankees. I will always cherish our friendship Jim, #7.

I'm so sorry to hear about Jimmy passing. Jimmy and I met about 15 years when I was in my early 20s, and have remained good friends ever since. We both had the same weekend hangout at the time (Graney's), and met through my Uncle who grew up in the same neighborhood as Jim. I remember being struck by what a genuinely kind person Jim was. He was always genuinely interested in hearing about what was going on in my life, and would remember the smallest details that he would follow-up with me on the next time we saw each other. We would also talk about baseball, various stories of Jim growing up with my parents and uncles, and the list goes on. It grew into a nice friendship, and Jimmy became a regular at our family parties throughout the years. We will all really miss him. As they say, they don't make them like that anymore. Jimmy was truly one of a kind.

My heart grieves for Jimmy. He was a friend and long-time baseball buddy. Many nights were spent at the Gregory household with Jim, Ed and Alice watching the Yankees play. Jim was a kind heart and a warm soul, always quick to laugh and never had a mean word for anyone. His passing leaves a hole that can't be filled.
Rest in Peace, Jimmy.
