Obituary of Christopher A Bergman

Christopher A. Bergman

CLIFTON PARK – Christopher Alexander Bergman, 55, beloved husband of Amy (Brady) Bergman passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday May 19th, 2023 after struggling with illness for some time.

Chris was born on March 3, 1968 to the late Lois (Chowski) and Frederick Bergman. He was a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Science from Suny Oswego. As a member of the Boy Scouts, he worked several summers at Camp Boyhaven in Middle Grove, and went on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Annual trips to Cape Cod with the family brought great memories of sand dunes, whale watches, and seafood delights.

Everyone who knew Chris experienced his generous and genuine kindness. He always gave of himself for family, friends, and his work. He cherished his time with his family, especially wife Amy and stepdaughter Dora. They loved their adventures in the Adirondacks afoot and afloat, and time spent watching the wild horses run at Assateague Island. Chris enjoyed time spent with the dogs joining the family in their adventures. If there was an Irish Music festival nearby, Chris was probably there either volunteering to park cars, or enjoying a pint or two with friends and family. Chris was active in the Saratoga Ancient Order of Hibernians and served as President and Treasurer. He had fun travelling with his brother to music festivals, Yosemite National Park, Vegas, and the Big Easy. Chris was well respected by his peers and the leaders in the technology industry for all of his time and efforts as a Network Engineer.

In addition to his wife Amy, stepdaughter Dora Clifford, and father Frederick, Chris is survived by his brother Russell Bergman, aunt Ruth (Chowski) Rendle, uncle Ralph Belmont, as well as cousins Mary Theresa (Bergmann) Carlin, Christina (Bergmann) Mulligan, Colleen Bergmann, William Bergmann, Susan (Rendle) Cooper, and Stephen Rendle, and all of his family through marriage.

In addition to his mother, Lois (Chowski) Bergman, Chris is predeceased by his grandparents Mary (Highland) Bergmann and Alexander and Anna Chowski as well as uncles William Bergmann, Steven Rendle, and aunts Mary Bergmann and Margaret "Peg" (Bergmann) Belmont.
