MARILYN JUNE (WILLEY) ILACQUA

LOUDONVILLE - Marilyn June (Willey) Ilacqua, 96 of Loudonville, NY, passed away on May 2, 2023 at The Teresian House in Albany. Born in Schenectady, NY on February 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Granger) Willey. Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late John T. Ilacqua. Together they shared fifty-six cherished years prior to his passing in 2006.
 
Marilyn graduated with honors from Nott Terrace High School and immediately began her career as a secretary at the General Electric Company. After marriage she became a full-time housewife and mother, and still managed to work part time as a bookkeeper for a local business. She was a member of the Pat Aiezza Veterans Post 1181 Auxiliary, where she served for 2 years as President and then for 40 years as Treasurer. She was also was a member of the Colonie Elks.

Marilyn enjoyed playing cards, oil painting, and ceramics. She was an avid cook, baker, and loved to host parties. She baked most of the family's wedding cakes, and was well known for her elaborate assortment of holiday cookies. Many of Marilyn's physicians would conveniently schedule her appointments after Thanksgiving to be assured she would bring a tray of her cookies.  

Marilyn is survived by her sons Anthony (Kathleen) Ilacqua of Averill Park, Brian Ilacqua of Niskayuna, daughter-in-law Mary Ilacqua of Syracuse, and sister Shirley Hirt in Ballston Lake. Also survived by four grandchildren: John III of Manhattan, Anthony Jr. (Kristin) of East Greenbush, Joseph (Lauren) of Hoboken, NJ, Andrew (Stephanie) of Albany, as well as great-granddaughter Zoey of East Greenbush. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to her late parents and husband, Marilyn is predeceased by her son John Ilacqua Jr and her in-laws, Nancy and William Pridon, Carl Hirt, Mary and Edward Froehlich, and Rosario (Sal) Ilacqua.
 
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Monday, May 8th, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.
In accordance with Marilyn's wishes, funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to John T. Ilacqua Jr. Memorial Fund, 7699 Foxtail Pines, Liverpool, NY 13090.
