Obituary of Elmer P. Dagner Jr.
ELMER P. DAGNER JR.
LATHAM - Elmer P. Dagner Jr., 90 of Latham, beloved husband of Mildred (Pilatich), entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 24, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Elmer and Helen (Bernacki) Dagner. Elmer graduated from Watervliet High School and went on to earn his Associates Degree from Hudson Valley Community College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Elmer retired from Niagara Mohawk after 30 years of service. He performed community service for the Colonie Senior Citizens Club. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife to Europe. In addition, Elmer also was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. Elmer's greatest source of joy, however, was without a doubt his family. He loved them deeply, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed yet forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his dear wife Mildred, survivors include his children Timothy (Janice) Dagner and Anne Marie (Rob) Zielinski, siblings Maryann Wunsch, Eric Dagner Sr., as well as four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his late parents, Elmer is predeceased by his siblings Frances Stock, Robert Dagner, and Patricia Grovenger.
