Obituary of Barbara R. Campbell
BARBARA R. CAMPBELL
Melrose- Barbara R. Campbell, 95 of Melrose NY, beloved wife of the late James E. Campbell, passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2023 at The Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls.
Born July 16, 1927 in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and the late Erma (Hakes) Roeck. Barbara graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1945, and later attended Troy Business School. She married James E. Campbell in 1954 and cherished over 61 years of marriage before his passing on November 20, 2015.
Barbara was a dedicated Aide for Cohoes City School District for 20 years. She had also previously worked for Williams Tire & Rubber for 10 years. For many years, Barbara enjoyed going to nursing homes and putting smiles on the faces of the residents she entertained as "Daffodilly the Clown".
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Linda (Raymond) Trzcinski of Melrose NY and Christopher James (Alecia) Campbell of Leominster, MA, as well as her brother, Fred (late June) Roeck of Holley NY. She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren, Damon, Ray, James, Chris, Max and Samantha, four adored great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Dean, Emma, and Henry along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Barbara's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 3rd, 2023, 10:30 AM, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 129 Old Loudon Rd., Latham with Rev. Jacob Evans, celebrant.
Interment beside her late husband, James, will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville immediately following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Barbara's memory to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 129 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, NY 12110.
