Obituary of Patricia K. Barr

PATRICIA K. BARR Cohoes- Patricia K. Barr, 81 of Cohoes, beloved wife of 50 years to the late Frank A. Barr, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 24 at St. Mary's Hospital, in Troy. Born in Watervliet on March 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Hockey) Trela. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High, Class of 1946 At one time Patricia was the Executive Director of the Troy-Cohoes YWCA for many years. She then was the Crafts Instructor at the Cohoes-Green Island Senior Centers as well as a Sales Clerk at the Cohoes Manufacturing Co. Pat was a member of the Mother's Club at St. Marie's School, the Home Bureau, Cohoes Community Center and the Spindle City Diva Red Hat Club. She also was a longtime volunteer at the Cohoes Music Hall. Her favorite hobbies included swimming, yoga, playing bridge, gardening, sewing and knitting. Pat is survived by her loving daughters; M.J. (James) Greer and Carol (Jonathan) Hind both of New Hartford, NY and Susan (Butch) Barr-Millard of Cohoes, her 4 cherished grandchildren as well as her siblings; Barbara Passino of FL, Donald Trela and Marianne Dabkowski both of Watervliet several nieces and nephews and her feline companions Oak & C.J. She is predeceased by her brother: John Trela. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary's Hospital especially all the oncology nurses for their car and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday (today) from 4-7 P.M. at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 8:30 am at Holy Trinity Church in Cohoes. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G.
