BALLSTON SPA - James Murphy, 63 of Ballston Spa, passed away on January 26th, 2023 surrounded by family and his care givers.
James was born in Rochester, NY on February 23, 1959 to Leo and Jeanne (Steffens) Murphy. Jimmy was one of ten children. He is pre-deceased by his father Leo and his brother Patrick. He is survived by his mother Jeanne, sisters Nancy, Eliza, and Kathryn, and brothers John, Paul, Daniel, Timothy, and Michael. Jimmy is also survived by his family with OPWDD.
Jimmy was a man of sense. Not only did he touch so many hearts and souls, but he was a man who enjoyed the simple things life had to offer. He enjoyed hot fudge sundaes with the works, chocolate milk, and car rides that never ended. He loved sitting in the grass experiencing the beauty of mother nature and spending time outside on the swing in the sun with a big grin on his face, followed by a laugh you could never forget. Jimmy also loved getting cassettes his mother would send of her singing. He was a peaceful and playful soul whose legacy will shine on.
"Your life was a blessing, your memory was a treasure, you are loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure."
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a celebration of Jimmy's life on Saturday, February 11, 2023, 11:00 am at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.
