JOANNE C. PARKER

STILLWATER - Joanne Cistin Parker, 62 of Stillwater, beloved wife of Donald G. Parker Jr., passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Catskill on October 13, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Shirley (Rigby) Cistin. Joanne attended Ravena Coeymans Selkirk schools. She and Donald were wed on August 30, 1980.

Joanne spent the majority of her career working for New York State. First, for the Office of Real Property Services and later as a Program Aide for the Department of Environmental Conservation. During the time in between these tenures at New York State Joanne worked as a Secretary for the Niskayuna School System.

Joanne was the heart and soul of her family. She was a talented cook and enjoyed spending time by the water and the ocean especially, as well as boating and waterskiing. She looked forward to family vacations to Wildwood, NJ in the early years of raising her family. Her two sons, Donald III and David, were her pride and joy. She loved them unconditionally and she will forever remain in their hearts. Her grandson, Caleb, was also a source of deep joy and love for Joanne.

In addition to her parents, Joanne is predeceased by her brother Timothy Cistin. Survivors include her loving husband Donald G. Parker Jr., her two sons Donald G. (Kate) Parker III and David C. (Kaitlin) Parker, grandson Caleb Parker, and nieces Stacey and Kelsey Hanson. Also survived by her sisters Deborah (Eric) Hanson and Janice (Clyde) Zunker.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call Friday, January 6th, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna will immediately follow the service.
