GREGORY W. SORRENTINO

COHOES - Gregory Wilson Sorrentino, 49 of Cohoes, beloved husband of Shauna (Duncan) Sorrentino and cherished father to Conor and Ronan Sorrentino, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Born in Schenectady, he was the loving son to Dominick and Linda (Barnes) Sorrentino. Gregory attended Guilderland schools graduating from Guilderland High School, Class of 1991. From there he went on to attend Villanova University graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Accounting. Gregory and Shauna were wed on August 11, 2006 in Ireland.

Gregory was a Certified Public Accountant. He worked as a Tax Accountant for Goldman Sachs in Latham up until his passing. He was an avid Villanova Wildcats, NY Yankees and NY Giants fan and loved his annual family and friends tailgating trip to a NY Giants game. He enjoyed coaching his boys, Conor and Ronan's sports teams when they were younger and in recent years. His favorite thing to do was to watch his boys play the sports they love. He loved spending time with his family especially his two boys. They were, and forever will be, his pride and joy. Gregory will be eternally missed yet forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors in addition to his wife Shauna, two sons Conor and Ronan, and parents Dominick and Linda include his siblings Dominick (Laura) Sorrentino and Marcie Sorrentino, sister-in-law Karen (Andrew) Wallace, nieces and nephews Mia, Frankie, Aoibhin, and Cianan, as well as his father-in-law William Duncan.

Gregory is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Ruth and Wilson Barnes, paternal grandparents Phyllis and Joseph Sorrentino, mother-in-law Bridget Duncan, as well as his niece and nephew Elizabeth and Nicholas Sorrentino.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 21, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham.

Private entombment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery at a later date.

Special thanks to The Eddy nurses, the team at Hospice and Gregory's doctor, lifelong friend, Dr. Tony Santilli for the care and compassion they all provided Greg and his family in recent weeks.
