Dear Dr. Lobel,
My infant nephew Ryan Pariseau passed away on Friday of GBS meniningitis
he was stricken with at 14 days of age. As I was lighting a candle for him on the memory page of the funeral home, your wife's name caught my eye. I was devastated to read it was indeed your wife. I just wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your entire family. Our loved ones taken all too soon from us. I can only hope that they are at peace. Their memories will remain with us always,

We, unfortunately, never had the great privilege of knowing Cindy Lobel... our relationship is through Dr Robert Lobel...
YET, we feel his tremendous and sudden loss and offer our prayers and support to him and to his entire family...
Cindy was just a year older than my wife Debbie, who was dx with Breast Cancer 13 years ago... ( a fight I continue annually with great support from Dr Lobel!!)
so I know the daily fear and concern... but I do not know, nor can pretend to know, the tremendous loss felt by her family with Cindy's death. Cut down when life was still so precious and full of vigor...but we will never know the why?

We were away all last week and have been grieving with you this week. Cindy's smile and gentleness, her warmth, her love have been flashing though my mind for the last several days. I remember her as a young nurse, a new bride, new mom, a mom of fellow Dartmouth students. the last time I saw her she was in her kitchen in NY offering hospitality Cindy style, gracious and relaxed.

We haven't seen Cindy for several years, but our last visit remains in my mind. Peter was still a little boy, and she shared with me what a great joy he was to her and Bob! The love in her face was like a light; I could not get over the openness of her heart and the abundance of her gratitude for her family and her Lord. What a tremendous loss for her family and all who knew her; and how thankful we are that she is now with her sweet Jesus.

I'm fighting tears right now because I loved Cindy so much! She was so kind to me during our homeschool days together in AZ. I taught some of her kids P.E. and she made me a sweet memory book to thank me for teaching. I know it took a lot of time of which she didn't have much extra! My girls, Mindi and Hayley babysat for her periodically and we enjoyed being in a health food co-op together for several years. After she moved to New York she always told me she looked forward to my Christmas newsletter and would set aside time to enjoy a bubblebath while reading it. I felt so humbled by that! She always encouraged me to keep my eyes on Jesus! Now she is seeing Him face to face! I look forward to the day I get to be with her again! My love and prayers go out to her precious family who are an incredible testimony of her devotion to them and to her Savior!

Dear Bob,
Mine and Anne's love and prayers are with you and your family. I am so sorry about the loss of your dear friend and wife Cyndy, and the mother of all your beautiful children. It seems like only yesterday we were in a room together asking God for a knowledge of His will for our lives("Knowing The Will Of God", right?)She was,or more truthfully, is a beautiful person and we long to see her again shortly.

Cindy was such a special person. I knew her when I was a sophomore in high school, she was a wonderful mentor and friend. We went to Ireland together with the high school band. I will always remember her in a red band uniform, playing her piccolo, "Stars and Stripes Forever", as we marched down the streets of Dublin.
When I learned I would marry into the Coutermarsh family, I was so thrilled to think that Cindy and I would be related! :-)

Bob's mother,Beata,and I first met Cindy when we picked up Bob at his residence in Hanover, NH, to go skiing at Killington when Cindy appeared from an adjacent house. We also met Cindy's mother at that time. Beata and I were impressed with the love Bob and Cindy had for each other and were thrilled to welcome Cindy as our daughter in law.
Several years after Beata's death, I married Claire, who fully embraced Cindy and Bob with love. We found Cindy to be a very warm, loving and inspiring woman and are grateful that her marriage with Bob has been blessed with five wonderful children who we adore. Being a grandfather to them has turned out to be an exciting experience.
Rest in peace, darling Cindy. We will always honor your presence in our lives, and we will keep your memory alive in our hearts. We have, and always will, treasure you.

Cindy and her family hosted me as a young married woman while I was a student in Albany. As much as I thought Cindy was sort of a second mother to me, she insisted that our relationship be one of friends (she has enough daughters!). I learned so much from her about life, and family, sacrifice and perspective. I would have wished, as do we all, for many more years of learning and sharing with Cindy. I will miss her greatly, but our family will always hold Cindy and all the Lobels as very important and a special part of our lives. I first met Cindy briefly in Atlanta when I was staying with my Aunt and Uncle (Bob's parents). Next time was much later in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, where my uncle had a big birthday celebration. At this time I really got to know Cindy more and when I was with them for Jonathan and Lisa's wedding a couple of years ago, I found her to a be very inspiring and loving woman. The experience of this trip to Chicago and Albany, gave me an amazing insight to this wonderful family, we had a lot of fun. I will keep these fantastic memories of Cindy forever.

I remember my first week teaching at The Albany Academies. Cynthia talked to me on the phone, welcomed me, and told me about her upcoming trip to visit Dublin. At that time I was a new teacher at the school and had only just lived in Albany for a little over a month. I was in a brand new country with a new job. She made me feel welcome, invited me to her home and was very interested in learning about my home country.
She was a wonderful, warm, caring woman and will be sorely missed. I had the pleasure of teaching her youngest son Peter math for a number of years.

My beloved daughter, God is Good. As I sit here looking at your picture many thoughts rush through my head- as the nurse handed you to me I had this wonderful feeling of love for you, you were the most beautiful baby and of course the first touch of your little hand with Dad's- well you had stolen his heart. How proud he was of you. I remember when you were about two, standing in front of us with your hands on your hips, toe tapping "explaining"to us why you had taken Sue's baby doll sweater off her doll to put on your cat. I remember in your fourteenth year you read the "Switch and the Crossblade" resulting in your deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ.
