Obituary of Laura Louise Saville

LAURA LOUISE SAVILLE TROY - Laura Louise Saville, 83 of Troy, beloved wife of the late James R. Saville Sr., passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Poestenkill, NY, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Dorothy (Smyth) Wetherwax. Laura was a graduate of Averill Park High School, Class of 1958. Laura and James were wed on April 17th, 1976 and enjoyed a cherished sixteen years together until his passing in 1992. Laura worked twenty-five years at Montgomery Ward in Menands prior to their closing. She then went on to work for NorthStar Bank (Bank of America). Laura retired as a secretary from The Daughters of Charity in Menands. Laura enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, and puzzles. She spent many years crocheting baby blankets which she graciously donated to the St. Mary's Hospital Gift Shop in Troy. One of her favorite pastimes was playing endless games of "Upwards" with her dear sister Letha. She enjoyed visits with her neighbors at Diamond Rock Terrace, especially Michele. Her family will forever hold her memory close and she will be eternally loved by all who knew her. Laura is survived by her son James Saville and his wife Ashley, her granddaughter Raina Saville, sisters Letha (late Ernie) Bateman, and Doris (late Richard) Wolf. Also survived by stepdaughter Linda Clifford, grandchildren Leanne, Felicia, Chris, Jessica, and Leon, as well as nieces and nephews EJ, John, Barbara, Cindy, and Johnny. In addition to her parents and late husband Laura is predeceased by her siblings John (MaryAnn), Stanley (June), and Joyce as well as her stepson Frank Saville. Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A prayer service will take place during the calling hours at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. John Califano presiding.
