Obituary of Sheri L. Stephenson

SHERI L. STEPHENSON

SALEM – Sheri L. Stephenson, 54, beloved wife of Gerald T. Stephenson., passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at her home in Salem surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 5th, 1967 in Niskayuna, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Ruth (McKeown) Piel.

Sheri worked most recently as a teller for several branches of the Glens Falls National Bank based in Cambridge. She also worked several years at The Mailworks as a Management Supervisor.

Sheri was a light in the lives of all who knew her. She will forever be remembered for her undeniable grit and sense of humor which was on display until the very end. She had a love for gardening and all things nature and being outside. She also loved the beach and a good steak and lobster. She had a soft spot for all animals and loved dancing and country music. Of all the things Sheri loved in this life, her family held the most special place in her heart. She will be forever missed but eternally cherished by those who loved her.

In addition to her parents Sheri is predeceased by her brother Thomas Piel.

She is survived by her loving family including her husband Gerald T. Stephenson, children Nicole (Shawn) Alread, Joseph M. Fuller, and Megan Fuller, granddaughter Carleigh Alread, as well as her siblings Fritz (Laura) Piel, Ted (Chris) Piel, Laura (Ray) Gaston, and Lynda (Dan) Grady. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family and celebrate Sheri's life on Thursday, August 25th, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations would be appreciated and may be made directly to Sheri's family to assist with existing medical costs, etc. and may be mailed to 25 Crestwood Dr., Schenectady, NY 12306.
