Obituary of Ruth Anne Fitzsimmons

RUTH ANNE FITZSIMMONS

LATHAM - Ruth Anne (Fleming) Fitzsimmons, 96, of Latham passed peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was the daughter of the late John and Helena Fleming of Salem, N.Y. She graduated from Washington Academy in Salem and Mildred Elley Business School. In 1951, she married the late Joseph C. Fitzsimmons who passed away on August 8, 2022. Together they shared 71 happy years of marriage. To anyone who had the privilege to observe our parents' beautiful and loving relationship, it is a testament to our parents love that Mom joined Dad just 9 days after he passed. It seemed they could just not be apart and now they are reunited in love for eternity. She was predeceased by her brother Bill Fleming and her sister Frances Button of Salem, N.Y.

Ruth Anne is survived by her family: Kathy (Wayne) Martin and their children Renee (Don) Far, Kim (Jimm) Lewis and Jennifer (Kevin) Paul; Mary Ellen (David) Broganer and their children Kira Broganer and Luke (Kathleen Kowalsky) Broganer from California; Joe (Pam) Fitzsimmons and their children Kelly (Joe) Durma, Joe (Lorell) Fitzsimmons, Jr., and Colleen (Chris) Bielkiewicz; Eileen (Rick Kilcullen) Fitzsimmons and their children Tera (Nick Allen) Criscione and Kiersten Kilcullen of Colorado; and Teri (Keith) Furman and their children Jaclyn (Andy) Griffith of Virginia and Michael (Catherine Henry) Furman of Texas. She is also survived by 20 adored great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Loudonville Assisted Living Residence for their compassionate, even if brief, care of our beloved mother.

Friends and relatives may visit with the family and offer condolences at 9 AM on Monday, August 22, 2022, in the chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham. Funeral mass to follow at 10 AM. Interment at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
