ELIZABETH J. GAYNOR CLIFTON PARK - Elizabeth Jane Gaynor, of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2022 at her home with her loving family by her side. Elizabeth was born in Albany to William and Margaret (Harrow) Shufelt. Elizabeth married John "Jack" Gaynor on June 10, 1961 and they resided in Latham where they raised their two daughters, Linda and Nancy. She was employed with the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. Elizabeth was an Agriculture and Markets finalist in the "Miss Stateside" Competition. She was also employed with the NYS Department of Labor. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her family, long walks, and was an avid bowler. She was a long-time member and active volunteer at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit where she also served as a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. Most recently Elizabeth was a member of Saint Matthews Episcopal Church in Latham. Elizabeth will be fondly remembered as a loving, kind, and generous soul. Her infectious bright smile, quick wit, and sense of humor will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband, Jack, sister Evelyn Burns, and her baby brother, Harry. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Linda Gaynor, Nancy (James) Campone, as well as her grandchildren Alyssa and Michael Campone. Also survived by her niece Kathy Gaylo and nephews George Burns and Bill Burns and their families. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 beginning at 12:00 PM at Saint Matthews Episcopal Church, 129 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with interment in Memory Gardens to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers the family kindly request donations be made in Elizabeth's memory to either the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society at 3 Oakland Ave, Menands or https://mohawkhumane.org/donate or to Saint Matthews Episcopal Church at the address listed above. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the care of Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home.
