WILLIAM "CRAIG" JEWETT
Cohoes-William "Craig" Jewett, 74 of Cohoes, beloved husband of Cathy Lee Stewart Jewett., entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at his home with his loving family at his side.
Born in Troy, on September 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Kenneth E. and Helen (Wilson) Jewett. Craig married the love of his life Cathy Lee Stewart on December 26, 1966 and the two have shared a beautiful marriage of almost 55 years. Craig served his country in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam from 1966 until 1968. He was the owner of the ESSO Station on the corner of route 9 & 155 in the early 1970's and the Mobil station on Pawling Ave. in Troy in 1973. In 1976 he drove a logging truck in Weavertown, NY and then went to work for St. Johnsbury Trucking for many years. His final employment was his most enjoyable working for North Colonie Central Schools as a bus driver, where he loved driving all his students and meeting parents and co-workers. He was a former coach with North Colonie Little League on the "Carvel Team". He loved watching football, baseball and car racing. He enjoyed watching car racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway and formerly raced car #57 at Fonda speedway. Craig also loved watching Katelyn run track, but most of all loved quality time with his family.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Rhonda Jewett and Wm. Craig (Tracy) Jewett, his cherished granddaughters Meaghan Jewett and Katelyn Jewett, his cousin Ronald (Marge) Jewett and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Craig was predeceased by his siblings, Doris McIntosh, Kenneth E. Jewett, Kathleen Yelle, and Barry Jewett
Funeral services will be held Thursday December 2, 2021 at 9:00 am in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Michael Crandall officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited for calling hours Wednesday December 1, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment with full military honors will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
