Obituary of Richard A. Mossey

RICHARD A. MOSSEY JR.

TROY - Richard A. Mossey, Jr., 50 of Troy, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at Samaritan

Hospital.

Born December 16, 1970, in Troy, he was the son of Richard A. and Patricia A. (Zembrzuski) Mossey, Sr.

Ricky was a graduate of Colonie Central High School and attended Maria College in Albany. During his

youth, he achieved Life rank as a member of the Boy Scouts and enjoyed playing baseball, competing at

various levels. Ricky was a true artist at heart. He enjoyed a variety of tabletop role-playing games,

painting miniatures, photography and reading.

Ricky worked as a Teachers' Aide with Capital Region BOCES for sixteen years, working entirely with

children with various disabilities. His last assignment, before being unable to work, was his favorite and

fondest memories, with Maywood School, Albany. It was there where Ricky was most proud to

accomplish building a garden, with the students, for all to enjoy.

Survivors include his parents, his brother Andrew P. (Monica) Mossey, Sr., nephew "AJ" Mossey,

Godmother Patricia Jones Mossey, his "Gal Friday" SandiLyn Rivet, whom he affectionately referred to

as his "Executive Assistant of Everything", many loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, and innumerable

dear and caring friends.

Ricky's family would like to sincerely thank his numerous, supportive friends and family, as well as the

many healthcare workers who compassionately cared for him over the years, most especially: Dr. Pawan

Bhatnagar, Dr. Richard Bauer III, Eileen Hogan NP, Dr. Griffin Kelly, all of the doctors, nurses and

support staff at The Fresenius Kidney Care Center-in both the Home Therapies and Hemodialysis units

and with The BCBS Landmark Team.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Dufresne &

Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 3, 2021, 10:00 am at Blessed Virgin

Mary of Czestochowa Church (PNCC), 250 Old Maxwell Rd, Latham with Rev. Fr. Mark Gnidzinski

officiating.

The interment and a celebration of Ricky's life, will take place on December 16, 2021 at a time to be

determined, at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Richard A. Mossey, Jr. Memorial Fund, at any Capital

Communication Federal Credit Union.
