LOURDES T. SHERWIN
Latham-Lourdes T. Sherwin, 94, beloved wife of the late Chester F. Sherwin, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany with her loving family at her side.
Born in Cohoes, on October 6, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Florence (Belanger) Bowes. She married her beloved Chester F. Sherwin on August 31, 1946 and the two shared a beautiful marriage of 63 years before his passing on September 25, 2009. Lourdes was a data processor with BOCES in Colonie for many years before her retirement. She was a shopping enthusiast with a flare for fashion. She loved dancing with her late husband for many years at the Colonie Elks Lodge in Latham. Her biggest joy in life was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving children Richard (Trina) Sherwin, Ronald (Sharon) Sherwin and Robin (Bruce MD) Coplin, she was the cherished grandmother of Richard (Kristin), Kathryn, Abigail (Kyle) and Halley, great-grandmother of Ava, Layla and Ella. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Lourdes was predeceased by her sisters Margaret Lahue, Eileen Kuzmick and Patricia Bowes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday October 28, 2021 at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. John Tallman officiating.
Calling hours are private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be next to her beloved husband Chester in Saratoga National Cemetery.
