Obituary of Louise Sharon Young

LOUISE S. YOUNG

Louise Sharon Young, 75, beloved wife of James A. Young., passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Samaritan Hospital, in Troy.

Born on April 22, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Glenford and Clara (Wilkinson) Westervelt.

Louise and James were married on October 23, 1992.

Louise worked as a devoted receptionist, employed by Samaritan Hospital, Department of Behavioral Health where she developed relationships through caring for those she served and worked with.

Louise will forever be remembered for her love of Las Vegas as well as the enjoyment she found from scrapbooking with her sisters and spending time with her dogs. She loved poetry and wrote her own poems. Louise loved listening to music especially her favorites Elvis, Tom Jones and Freddy Mercury. She loved rides to Silver Bay with her sisters to revisit favorite childhood memories. Louise's family was her most cherished treasure and spending time with them gathered round her created even more fond memories.

Survivors in addition to her husband Jim include her son Brian (Jennifer) Westervelt, granddaughter Madeline Westervelt, sisters Marion Brenenstuhl and Eileen LaMar, in-laws Joan and Henry Shoddy, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as her beloved canine companion, Hunter.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 9-10:30am at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham followed by a prayer service at 10:30am and interment in Saratoga National Cemetery will immediately follow.
