CHARLES J. FOX JR.
Colonie- Charles J. "Spanky" Fox, Jr., 83 of Cohoes, beloved husband of Patricia H. Mendel, entered into eternal life on Monday, September 6th, 2021.
Born in Troy on April 17, 1938, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Elizabeth (McLoughlin) Fox. He was beloved husband to the love of his life Patricia H. Mendel Fox for over 61 years. He adored his beloved daughters Lori (Walt) Peretti, Michele (Rich) Carroll and was predeceased by his cherished son Ricky C. (Cathleen) Fox. Charlie's pride and joy were his grandchildren. He was "Grampy" to Justin, Matthew, and Zachary Peretti, Trevor, Ryan, and Tyler Carroll and Sloane Fox. He would never miss one of their baseball, hockey or lacrosse games, sometimes 6 per weekend and the boys always asked for his feedback and valued his opinion. He also drove to Maine every Mother's Day weekend with Pat to attend his granddaughter's dance recitals.
Charles was a graduate of LaSalle Institute and received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Russell Sage. He worked as an accountant for Allied Signal Co and Metropolitan Life Insurance for many years. He loved playing golf and was an avid NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Rangers and Notre Dame Football fan. He was a dedicated season ticket holder for the Siena Men's basketball team. His favorite Yankee was Derek Jeter and he always loved talking about watching him play early in his career with the Albany-Colonie Yankees. Stone Harbor, NJ was one of Charlies favorite places in the whole world where, for the past 60 years he vacationed with his family.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family, arrangements being entrusted to Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Longbucco officiating.
Interment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
