ELIZABETH D. THORNTON Albany- Elizabeth D. Thornton, 94 of Albany, beloved wife of the late William F. Thornton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 19 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, in Albany. Born in Winchester TN on September 3, 1915, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Nellie (Wright) Denson. She was a resident of Latham from 1950-1989 and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. She employed as a Bookkeeper for Southworth Milton in Clifton Park and at one time was the owner and operator of Bill's Tastee Freez in Delmar for over 16 years with her husband Bill. Elizabeth is survived by her loving and dear friends Jim and Kim Sheldon of Delmar; her niece Peggy Gardiner and great nephew Scott Gardiner both Latham. She is predeceased by her Great Niece; Katie Gardiner Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday morning from 9:30 -10:00 am at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at Our Lady Of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham Interment will take place next to her beloved husband in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
