C. THOMAS NIGHTINGALE III
Latham- C. Thomas Nightingale III, 91 of Latham, beloved husband of the late Helen (Donovan) Nightingale passed away peacefully on Monday July 26, 2021.
Born in Manhattan, on February 15, 1930, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Mary E. (Farrell) Nightingale Jr. Tom was married to the former Helen Ann Donovan on February 6, 1954 in Naugatuck, CT., and the two shared a blessed union of love and devotion for 64 years prior to her passing in 2018. He proudly served in the 98th Medical Detachment in the U.S. Army and received a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette University.
Tom was a Chemical Engineer- Electron Scanning Microspist as well as a scientific consultant for Ernest F. Fullum, Structure Probe (West Chester, PA), and others.
He was a longtime volunteer with Reading for the Blind and Mid-Atlantic Thresholds programs of Central Pennsylvania.
Tom was an avid private Pilot for 30 years.
Survivors include his loving children: Charles T. (Denise) Nightingale IV of Latham, James (Jean) Nightingale of Clifton Park and Katharine (Jake Haker) Nightingale of North River, NY as well as his eight cherished grandchildren: C. Thomas Nightingale V, Lauren Nightingale, Matthew Nightingale, Hannah(Sean) Nolan, Lydia Nightingale, Zachary (Carmen) Nightingale, Matthew (Kate) Haker and Corinn Haker; seven great grandchildren Jonathan Davis, Knox Nolan, Hazel Nolan, Ransom Nolan, Justice Nolan, Lily Haker and Mikaela Haker and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday July 29, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.
Tom's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Brian Kelly officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Bishops Appeal, 40 North Main Avenue

Interment will take place in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck CT.
