Obituary of Anne M. Weglarz

Anne M. Weglarz, 90, of West Sand Lake, passed away on June 1, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Troy, she was raised in Green Island and was the daughter of the late George N. and Anna Mae (Cowieson) Turcotte. Anne attended and graduated from Heatley High School in Green Island. She married her late husband Vincent F. Weglarz Jr. in 1954. During her lifetime Anne spent her time running her household and raising her children. She also worked in the offices of the family business, V.F. Weglarz, Inc. Later she returned to work at the Watervliet Arsenal as a Personnel Staffing Assistant. Anne enjoyed traveling with her lifelong friends Joe and Joan Hostig as well as working part-time at the former Lenox Outlet Store in Latham. She also spent time in Missouri prior to returning to New York. During her time there she volunteered and contributed to many charitable organizations. In addition to her parents and husband Anne is predeceased by her son John V. Weglarz, grandson Jan V. Rickard, sister Margaret Terry Gillis, sister-in-law Wanda "Sunny" (Late Robert H.) Miller, nephews George Terry and Brian Gillis, friends Joe and Joan Hostig, and godson Joseph Hostig Jr. Anne is survived by her daughters Patricia A Shaver (Blaine) of West Sand Lake and Ann Rosenkoetter (Eric) of Austin, TX, loved grandchildren Gabriell Rickard and Max, Olivia, and Jacob Rosenkoetter, great-granddaughter Anna Bradford-Rickard, many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friend and companion Milton Renfrow (Elroy) of Jefferson City, MO. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on July 29, 2021, 10:00am, at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Burial of Ashes to immediately follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy. Gathering of family and friends to follow, location to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany at https://www.givetostpeters.org/donate/ or to any Alzheimer's research efforts. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Latham.
