Obituary of Anne M. Weglarz

Anne M. Weglarz, 90, of West Sand Lake, passed away on June 1, 2021, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born in Troy, she was raised in Green Island and was the daughter of the late George N. and Anna Mae (Cowieson) Turcotte. Anne married her late husband Vincent F. Weglarz, Jr. in 1954. Anne was a devoted a caregiver for her immediate and extended family while also working in the business office of V.F. Weglarz, Inc. Anne later worked for the Watervliet Arsenal as a personnel staffing assistant and at the Lennox store in Latham. Anne retired to mid-Missouri in 1999 to be closer to her youngest grandchildren and made new friends. She returned to upstate New York in 2018. Anne enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her lifelong friends Joe and Joan Hostig. Her interests included penny slot machines, all game shows, and bird watching. In addition to her parents and husband, Anne was predeceased by her son John V. Weglarz, grandson Jan V. Rickard, sister Margaret Terry Gillis, brother-in-law Harry Gillis, sister-in-law Wanda “Sunny” Miller, brother-in-law Robert H. Miller, nephews George Terry and Brian Gillis, friends Joe and Joan Hostig, and godson Joseph Hostig, Jr. Anne is survived by her daughters Patricia A Shaver (Blaine) of West Sand Lake and Ann Rosenkoetter (Eric) of Austin, TX, beloved grandchildren Gabriell Rickard and Max, Olivia, and Jacob Rosenkoetter, great-granddaughter Anna Bradford-Rickard, many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear longtime friend Milton Renfrow (Elroy) of Jefferson City, MO. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on July 29, 2021, 10:00am, at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Burial of Ashes to immediately follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Troy. Gathering to follow with location to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany at https://www.givetostpeters.org/donate/ and to the St. Ambrose Food Pantry. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Latham.
