Linda posted a condolence
Saturday, January 2, 2010
Please accept my condolences for the loss of Ivory. We were friends a long time ago, 45 years to be exact. I was fortunate enough to meet Ivory when I did secretarial work at the Albany Interracial Society, when it was located on North Lark Street.
She attended a sewing class that I gave there and I helped her make a dress. We had a lot of laughs and good talks during that time.
I left the Interracial Council to have my first child and Ivory and I lost touch.
I remember she was very proud of her husband Sanford and family. I have thought about her over the years, remebering what a truly nice human being she was. A few weeks ago I looked in the telephone book try to track her down, just to say hello,
but was not able to find a listing for Mr. Waters.
I just want to express my sincere condolences to you all and to say out loud, that I knew Ivory Waters and that she was a lovely person and a good friend.
Sincerely,
Linda English
