CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH MEEHAN
Schaghticoke- Christopher Joseph Meehan, 50 of Schaghticoke, beloved husband of Jamie A. Fairley Meehan, died suddenly Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, in Troy.
Born in Troy, he was the loving son of Charles J. and B. Jane (Sheehy) Meehan of Latham. Mr. Meehan married his beloved wife Jamie A. Fairley on October 18, 1985 in Esopus, New York.
He was a graduate of Shaker High Scool class of 1978. Chris graduated from the College of Technology in Utica with a Bachelors Degree in Communications in 1985. He was the Director of Transportation with the Schuylerville Central School District for over 22 years.
Chris was an avid golfer he loved fishing, boating and reading. His most treasured time was the time he spent at his vacation home in Rhode Island with his family. He was a member of the Al Tech Golf League at Eagle Crest Golf Club for many years and was an original member of the "Travers Open".
Survivors in addition to his wife and his parents include his cherished children Justin C. Meehan of Albany and Emily M. Meehan of Boston, MA. He was the dear brother of Marsha M. (Michael) Tierney of Colonie, Patrick C. (Patricia) Meehan of Latham, Michael J. Meehan of Duluth, GA, Charles J. (Christine) Meehan of North Greenbush and Jane P. Meehan of Latham. Chris was also survived by his mother in law, several aunts, uncles, brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his devoted companion Buddy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday January 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in The Church of the Holy Trinity 17 Main Street Schaghticoke with Rev. George Fleming officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment with full military honors will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Donations to the Speigletown Fire Department 146 Speigletown Rd. Speigletown, NY 12182 in memory of Chris would be appreciated.
