Auntie Jude was wonderfully obsessed with Christmas, the holiday season, and holidays in general. My first memory of Auntie and Christmas was during a December visit to Nana & Popop’s home in Greene Island. I was 3 - 4 years-old. What made the visit so memorable were Nana & Auntie’s Christmas stockings. They were stockings. If I’m not clear, the stockings were pantyhose, jam packed with wrapped gifts, stretching the hose to the point of causing runs in the hose. Little could I comprehend that gift filled stockings were a subtle precursor of the wonderment to come. Throughout the year, Auntie would spot a potential Christmas gift and then purchase 10 - 20 of them, potentially for the 20 nieces and nephews. I was blessed with being but one of the 20 cousins. Bobby, Kathy, Kim and Kerry, Ken, Jim and Lisa, Teddy and Matt, and, Billy, Michael, Kenny, Lizzie, Hanky, Maggie and Andrew John. We were all very close. We created our own village. When Auntie would deliver the gifts to everyone’s homes on Christmas Eve, the cousins would don boots and run back and forth through the snow to distribute the gifts to the appropriate piles which would work their way up the walls. Auntie would attend Christmas meals with her siblings and their children. It was a magical time when we all twittered about sparkling in anticipation. Over the years, Auntie’s voice slowly lowered and bore a close resemblance to that of Lauren Bacall. I will always remember Auntie with a halo of cigarette smoke wafting above her head, as being devoted to her dogs, and providing unconditional, deep love for her family. The pandemic affected our ability to grieve as we might need to grieve. But, I felt her presence, her illness, her passing, and my family’s grief. Goodbye. You made our lives delightful and filled with fairy dust. Love, your nephew, Kenneth Hart Bryk.

Aunt Judy was a magical presence in our lives. Christmas was especially wonderful. We would visit her on Christmas Eve, last minute wrapping with Yardsley, Cookies and coffee and of course the clouds of cigarette smoke. She would always find your next favorite sweater, toy, device. I know she delivered many of us to college in an unflappable calm manner. I will miss her dearly as I am sure all of her nieces and nephews will. I believe she is at the kitchen table in heaven adding to her coupon box and smiling down on all of us. Love Ted

Thank you Aunt Judy. We loved you so much. You and Aunt Sally were my mother’s best friends. You taught us so much about gardens and pools, dogs, and respect for Ford Cars. Thank you for always having an open door. I have many Christmas decorations from you. Thank you. We always looked forward to you. Xoxox. ♥️ Rest In Peace

I will miss my Aunt Judy so much. Phone calls and emails with Aunt Judy and Aunt Sally saved me after my mom died. Aunt Judy was a generous, loving and caring person. To paraphrase my brother Mike, 'they don't make people like Aunt Judy anymore'. I loved it when Aunt Judy's station wagon pulled up to our home on Christmas Eve, I loved family picnics and swimming at Aunt Judy's house, and I loved how much Aunt Judy loved her dogs. How many Mr. Poochie's did Aunt Judy have??? I love you, Aunt Judy. Good bye.

I would like to leave a tribute to my sister Judy regarding her love of Christmas.
Ask any of her 19 nieces and nephews about their memories of Christmas and
they will always respond " All the presents we got from Aunt Judy." She loved to shop
and Christmas was her holiday to shine. It was not unknown that she usually
wrapped 1000 present right up until Christmas Eve.

Two of my sons had Ms. Hart at Watervliet Elementary School for second grade; both of my boys loved their teacher! I remember the first time I met her at school, and after speaking with her for a short while, I knew this was the teacher I hoped would be instructing my sons. What a wonderful, joyous, humorous and intelligent outlook she had on life. We were all better for knowing her. Thank you Ms. Hart, from me and my sons, for being the teacher that you were and the person that you were. God speed.

We will always remember our post Sunday mass visits with Judy...her lively wit, wisdom and smile. She always made us laugh about something. The 8th row at St. Ambrose Church won’t be as colorful now that Judy has taken her place in Heaven.
