WILLIAM E. LANCHANTIN Waldwick, NJ- William E. Lanchantin, 99 of Waldwick, NJ beloved husband of the late Margaret (VanHook) Lanchantin entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Eddy Village Green, in Cohoes, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 28, 1921, he was the son of the late William E. and Lillian (Long) Lanchantin. William proudly served his country in World War II for the United States Army Air Force in the Pacific Theatre. He was a proud graduate of Brooklyn Tech and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in business from Fordham University and continued in their master's program in marketing and management. He married Margaret VanHook in 1950 and spent 50 years together before she passed away in 2000. William was a resident of Waldwick for over 60 years and was well known in the community. William was a member of the Metropolitan Opera Association, the New Jersey Audubon Society and a regular at the Waldwick Library. He was active in St. Luke's Church as a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. William worked in purchasing and was the import/export manager for Honolulu Iron Works, then became an office manager when the company was bought by Ward-Johnston Company of New York, NY. Survivors include his loving children William E. (Lesley) Lanchantin, John J. (Kristine) Lanchantin, Richard (Diane) Lanchantin and Suzanne (David) Mills, his adoring grandchildren Adrienne (Matt), William E. (Jacqui), Colin, Laura, Daniel, Jack, Alex, Shawn Rose, Matthew, Holly, Jennifer (Simon), Abigail and Andrew, as well as his cherished great grandchildren Sadie, Evan, Sam, Eli and Elise. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, New Jersey.
