Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting Joan, I did meet her son, Richard, when he worked at Quintessence in Albany.
He was known to us as "Ricky" then and he was always polite, professional and gave a great lift to Q just by his presence. He may not recall who I am, but when I noticed the name of his mom and saw their connection, I felt compelled to pass along my condolences to him and his family. The obituary says that Joseph died just last year and I have heard that couples that truly have a very strong bond often pass within a short time of each other.
