CATHERINE ELIZABETH CURRAN Loudonville- Catherine Elizabeth "Kay" Curran, 82 of Loudonville, beloved wife of John "Jack" Curran, died peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Albany Medical Center, with her family by her side. Born in Troy, NY on June 1, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Francis L. and Mary Frances (Gainey) Ryan. After graduating Catholic Central High School, Class of 1955 in Troy, Kay married Jack on August 3, 1957 at Saint Joseph's Church in South Troy. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage and were communicants of St. Pius X church in Loudonville. She was an avid golfer, a member of the Colonie Elk's Ladies Auxiliary, a member and former waitress for the Polish American Club in South Troy, as well as a member of the Colonie Senior Citizens. Kay began her employment career with NY Telephone Company. She left there to stay at home to care for their seven children. She then returned to work outside the home at the NYS Office of General Services in Albany, as a clerk in the Standards and Purchasing Division for over 20 years until retiring in 1995. Kay and Jack enjoyed wintering with friends and relatives in Florida from 1995 until 2017. Kay immensely enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, and in her later years, playing Rummikub and doing word searches. Survivors in addition to her husband include her children Brother Jack Curran F.S.C., Mark (Roberta) Curran, Mary Kay (Don) Scott, Michael (Christina) Curran, Anne Marie (Tom) Hoffman, Paul (Karen) Curran and Sue Ellen (John) Murphy. Also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Kay also leaves behind her siblings Joan Zampino, Helen Lynch and Frank "Itchy" Ryan. Kay was predeceased by her sister, the late Mary Frances Schofield. The family gratefully appreciates those who provided comfort and care for Kay at home and Albany Medical Center. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday January 26, 2020 from 3pm-6pm at the Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 27, 2020 at 10am at St. Pius X Church 23 Crumitie Rd. Loudonville.
