Obituary of Patrick John Doran

Please share a memory of Patrick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
PATRICK DORAN Cherry Hill, NJ-Patrick John Doran moved on from this life to his eternal life on Friday, December 13th at Saint Mary's Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, while holding the hands of his loving daughters. Patrick fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, yet unless you knew him intimately you would never know of his suffering as he always had a smile and kind word for everyone he encountered. Patrick's zeal for life and grateful spirit was contagious and magnetic. To those who knew Pat, he was an exceptional friend with a quick wit and great sense of humor. To his family, Patrick was an inspiration and a steadfast example of Godly man. Despite life's sometimes painful circumstances and through adversity Patrick remained unwavering in his thankfulness and faith. Patrick exemplified Proverbs 13:22, his greatest inheritance is the values he passed down to his own children, grandkids, and great-grandchildren. Patrick taught his children to have an exceptional work ethic, to live with integrity, compassion, resilience, hope, gratitude and most of all faith. Patrick leaves this tremendous legacy to his family because he led by example. Patrick was a first generation American born into a humble, loving and tight knit Scottish family. Growing up in Albany, New York, Patrick was blessed with two wonderful siblings, John and Joyce who were also his best friends. While in high school Patrick met the love of his life and married his high school sweetheart, Marion Winchester Doran September 3, 1955. Together Patrick and Marion built a life of love and faith, with a house full of music, laughter and children. Patrick was fortunate to have a career with Navistar International that took him and his family on adventures to new places. In each new place Pat put down roots and his children have raised their families in these places- CT, NJ, & IL. Patrick loved music, dancing, the beach, golf and most of all his family. Patrick's entry to heaven must surely have been a joyous reunion as Patrick was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Marion Winchester Doran, his brother John Doran and his eldest daughter Marion Liscio. Forever grateful to have been loved by Patrick, he leaves to celebrate his life and carry on his legacy; his wife Eva Doran; his daughters Jeanne Lehman, Donna DeMarco (Joe), Linda Maloney(John), & Kathleen Doran; son-in-law John Liscio; sister Joyce Wood, 15 grandchildren, 8 great-children, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
