Herman Koelmel posted a condolence

Dear Annette, Kathleen, and extended family,
Although I’m extremely saddened and disappointed that I just learned of Fred’s passing, I am relieved that he is not suffering nor in extended pain and, thankful of the fulfillment of his final reward for which he so dedicated his life; his favorable reception into heaven.
We can reflect on his generous, joyful, and most pleasant personality; he lived his life with class, dignity, and with a devotion to his family and friends. We can take solace in that we have been blessed to have been beneficiaries of Fred’s kindness, friendship, and fellowship for so many years.
Fred was always a hard worker; a staunch supporter, and friend of the Troy Germania Hall; and an ardent advocate of his German culture and heritage with the Männerchor, Badish, and Cannstatter Vereine.
On behave of the Deutscher Chorverband, New York State Sängerbund, and the German-American community across the state; we honor his patriotism and his dedication and support of our German heritage, customs, and traditions.
I offer our deepest sympathies and condolence, we will keep Fred and you all in our hearts and prayers. May God welcome him and comfort you with peace and love at this sorrowful time.
Möge er in Frieden ruhen, und sei in Gottes Segen geborgen
May he rest in peace and be secure in God's Blessings.
Herman Koelmel, President,
New York State Saengerbund Inc.

Annette, Kathy, Brian. Ann, Emily & Matt,
I was very sorry to hear about Fred's passing. He was a wonderful teacher, family man, friend and Yankee Fan.
I was very lucky when he walked into my life. All of us have had good memories together. I am thankful for that. I miss him already and know he is smiling in heaven and playing cards with family and friends. My nickname from him of Hootie will always be very special. Rest in Peace my very close friend. I will miss talking to you about so many things. Thank You for serving the USA and know it was appreciated. Love & Hugs Colleen

I think of Fred often. He was a guiding light at Bryant & Stratton College and made me laugh a lot. We always rode to graduation together and talked about our pride in our students. Fred was a great guy - loved to hear him call us all "PITA" - though I won't say what that stands for! You are missed, Fred.
