Marianna Schaefer Obituary

MARIANNA SCHAEFER Latham-Marianna Schaefer, born October 18, 1940; reunited with parents Evelyn and Francis and sister Fran on October 14, 2009. She was an extremely outgoing and friendly individual who loved being with people. Marianna retired from working at New Visions (Albany County ARC) in August 2003 and enjoyed going to the Cohoes Senior Center daily and participating in arts, crafts, and cooking. She was a resident at Campito IRA, Latham, and took advantage of outings and travel with housemates. Marianna especially liked to go to Seniors' dinners, Elks' Club functions, bowling, bingo, and disco dancing at Northern Lights with her special friend, Bill Baysa. Marianna is survived by loving sister, Sondra (Tom)) and brothers David (Nancy) and Joseph (Cathy). She has five nieces, five nephews and thirteen grand nieces and nephews who also knew her lovingly as 'Aunt Sissy'. Marianna will be sorely missed by many as her radiance captivated everyone and most certainly Wilma Hayes, long-time clinical assistant at Campito House. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday October 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church 347 Old Loudon Road Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois officiating. There will be no calling hours. Donations in Marianna's memory can be made to Campito House, 17 Colonie St., Latham, N.Y. 12110.
