Obituary of Marian Neil

MARIAN NEIL Latham-Marian Neil, 82 of Latham, beloved wife of the late James D. Neil, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at her home with her family at her side. Born in Albany, on June 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Mary (Morreale) Panetta owners of the once famous Panetta's Restaurant in Menands. Marian was an active member of St. Pius X Church where she sang in the choir for over 30 years. She was a member of the Italian-American Community Center in Albany. Marian enjoyed the Saratoga race track, loved to travel, gardening, cooking and all types of social events. Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her family and granddaughter. In recent years she was a lunch aide at both St. Pius X School in Loudonville and the Boght Hills Elementary school. Survivors include her loving children Linda Neil and Dave (Donabeth Reed) Neil, her cherished grandchildren McKinley Neil, Kelcy Kimmerer and Richard Kimmerer, sister Anna Zumbo, she was the sister-in-law of Lois Panetta, Alicia Panetta and Virginia Neil. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marian was also predeceased by her sister, Catherine Panetta-Burke, brother Joseph Panetta, Rosemary Daly, and brother Charles Panetta. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday June 4, 2019 from 10:00 a.m.- 11:45 am at St. Pius X Chapel, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately after the visitation on Tuesday at 12:00 pm in St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Rev. James Walsh officiating. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery Menands directly following the mass.
