MAIDA GALLAGHER QUINN
Latham-Maida Quinn, 81 of Latham, beloved wife of Robert Quinn and the late James Ellis Gallagher, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland.
Born and educated in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mabel (Ziegler) Hartman. She was a graduate of the Plattsburgh School of Nursing. She was a School Nurse & Health Teacher at Guilderland High School for many years until retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland where she loved to golf. Maida was a member of the Albany Curling Club. She loved to bowling, walking, playing bridge, snowshoeing,cross stitching and playing with her cherished great-grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving children Jamie DeCanio of Altamont, and Jay H. Gallagher of Deltona , FL, her Step-daughter, Gayle Wheeler of Gainsville, FL and stepdaughter, Janet Smith of Park City , UT, she is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her brother Ernest Hartman.
A Memorial Mass will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd. Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke, pastor officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham.
