He was my guardian angel, always there to answer my call, never raised his voice nor swear, a very good listener, humble, never judged. He had a great sense of humor, with jokes to entertain his patients and colleagues, and loved playing Czardas, Hating-gabi, ragtime and Fritz Kreisler on his vintage violin (or the piano, guitar, ukulele) at hospital events and family gatherings. He taught me how to dance the tango, mambo, cha-cha, and fox trot. Above all, he loved his wife, sons and grandchildren. I’ll forever miss him.

Our deepest condolences to Auntie Mimi and her family, Auntie Relly and Auntie Ellen. We will all miss Uncle Sonny. The memories of the times we spent with him in the States and in the Philippines will forever be in our hearts. He always went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay in the US. We had lots of laughs and shared our desire to bring our families closer. He was a good person and loved and was loved by many. We thank God for the opportunity of knowing Uncle Sonny and pray for his eternal rest. We also pray for Auntie Mimi and his children.

Very sorry to hear of Dr. Racela’s passing. He was a wonderful man, and a great MD.the kindness he showed for his patients and fellow health care workers, his generosity he displayed to his patients and co workers was well known .I had the privilege of working with him at St.Marys for many years and at Vanrensselaer Manor, but more importantly he was my physician for over 25 years. A wonderful man with the best sense of humor. RIP Doc.
